If you were to ask, ‘what is the most important thing when it comes to managing a profitable business?’ the answer would probably be different depending on who you asked.
But if there is one thing everyone can agree on…it’s to know your customer! Knowing exactly who you are targeting will dictate what content you produce, what platforms you are on, and what strategies you implement.
In this episode, we are talking to social media marketer and CEO of Bad Rhino Inc., Marty McDonald. He knows that without the ‘ideal customer’ part of the equation, the other parts have a harder time coming together. He also shares other tools to have in order to have best results:
- Be CONSISTENT! You need to post regularly and make sure the posts are all somehow connected. They need to have the same call to action, or it’s going to get lost in all the other work you do.
- Keep your eyes open to your audience. When you listen to your audience you can create the content that they need and something they can actually USE. Take in the feedback so you can continue to grow.
- Have a strategy. Create something that is universal and can work among all platforms. Your strategy is interconnected to all platforms, so spend some time and get a clear vision on what direction you want to take.
When you mix these tools and know your audience, your social strategy will be nothing short of amazing! Marty stresses that with all these new platforms popping up everywhere, it can be hard to stay focused. Keep your eyes on the prize. Don’t jump from one platform to another and forget where you just were. You have to be in just enough places to make an impact.
