How to Develop a 1% Mindset

1% thinking = 1% earning. Say it again: 1% thinking = 1% earning. You’re not going to get to earning like the 1%  if your thinking is down in the 99%. But how do you climb the massive mountain in front of you to become a top 1% earner? Below are my three tips for thinking like the 1% and how to earn your way into the 1% starting TODAY.

  1. A 1% mindset starts with the ability to dream massively huge dreams while balancing being in complete gratitude about where you are RIGHT NOW. I know that you, like me, are a part of our The Unstoppable Entrepreneurs Program community because you have these massive dreams. The problem with having these dreams is you feel like you’re not getting there fast enough or that your dreams don’t match up with your current results. And for a lot of people, this sends them off course. Set a bar of excellence for yourself every day without allowing yourself to give in or compromise. With my company Give Her Courage, I still celebrate when we sell a $32 necklace and you have to have that kind of gratitude to build a multi-million or billion-dollar company. You have to be thankful for where you are right now while allowing yourself to go to the next level.
  1. The 1%ers dream and then make it reality. So many people make excuses instead of making things happen. The 1% are the “yes we can” people who will handle whatever is thrown at them in order to make their dreams their reality. If you aren’t willing to think of solutions, build up radical resilience, and take action to make improvements, the 1% won’t be in your future. 1%ers have an unwavering commitment to finding a way.
  1. Long range planning is crucial. Setting big goals, big dreams and being willing to work on them over the next 5, 10, 15 years is key to developing a 1% mindset. When I launched my podcast, I told my team of 1, “15 years from now we’ll be in the top 10 of entrepreneurial podcasts on iTunes. Today, we are in the Top 30 5 years in, and are still working towards that goal. Talk to people in the 1% and they’re not thinking in terms of 5 minutes, they’re thinking in terms of 5 years. Expand your view of your business and expand your mindset to embrace long-term goal setting. Give yourself room to learn, grow, and enjoy the process. So many people are prevented from getting into the 1% because they’re so short-sighted and believe they’re failing when they’re really learning. And learning takes time. As long as you’re willing to give yourself enough time, you can accomplish anything.

The 1% become the 1% because they work harder and smarter than the 99%. You can develop this type of thinking by surrounding yourself with others chasing the same things, learning from the 1%, and intentionally doing the work required to build this type of thinking. It’s not always easy, but it’s 100% worth it.
