Courage will help you Follow Your Dreams

courageEveryone talks about courage.

Courage helps you step into the light.

What light, you might ask?

YOURS. Courage is digging deep into the depth of your being and bringing forth your unique talent and gifts for the world to enjoy.

  • Waking up in the morning and making an agreement with the universe, that nothing will stand in the way of you embodying everything you can possibly be.
  • Making every decision from the place of deep knowing. Being certain that with every breath you take and every step you make, you act out of resolute purpose.
  • Living life with your inner world guiding and your outer world following suit.
  • Making the commitment to yourself that not a single moment can go by that you aren’t soaking in everything life has to offer and delivering back your unique contribution to the world.

Life is speeding past us so quickly that we often forget to stop and ask ourselves “Why am I doing what I am doing?” Many people sacrifice living their fullest and best life because of the discomfort that comes with change. Most of the time the anticipation is far worse than actually going through the experience.

At the end of the day, we are all searching for happiness.

It disguises itself in a multitude of ways; but all of our hopes, dreams and desires come down to this one key human need. Some find out early that it comes from growth, contribution and fulfillment, while others remain mystified for years. Ask your self “what do I really want out of life?” then ask your self “why” and then “why” again, you will get there somehow.

Knowing this, we must design a life for ourselves that allows for these things. I work with a lot of extremely talented individuals that lost the fire somewhere along the way. Many times our careers suck the lives out of us.

Comfort is the enemy of courage. Everything is so easy and accessible that making a change that is hard, slow and painful, but in our best interest is not at the top of the list. I urge you to fight the temptation of comfortable and choose inspired, meaningful and purposeful.

One of the reasons I became a coach was I saw many of these extremely talented business leaders and executives that were on a treadmill they couldn’t step off of. They had all the talent and drive, but needed someone to shake them up and make them realize-life can be another way. You don’t have to work 60 hours a week, you don’t have to stay in a job you hate, you aren’t to old to start a business. YES, you can!

Courageous people ask for help.

They find role models, mentors and coaches to hold them accountable. They realize no human being is perfect and the only way to find out what we are truly capable of is by trying.

Making mistakes by doing is an expedited way of learning. The first step is to care more about what you think and feel at the end of the day, than how you look to others. The second step is to really dial into the pain and consequences of not taking that next step.

Take some time to think about what is possible for your future and how that one decision you have been avoiding, could change everything. Now go be brave!
